Lexi and Mommy working

Unveiling of the New Lexi Room

Here it is! While I was gone this weekend, Mommy & Daddy did lots & lots to my room! Check out the pics below. I will describe the changes that were made. If you're interested in all the details. :)

Most major change: PAINT! My former room was green. It was very pretty but hey, we all need a change from time to time. For my new color scheme, I requested (about 1000 times) a combo of blue & pink! I allowed some green as well, for accent colors.

Here's a close-up of my little shelf. I can hang stuff here. Btw, it was here before, but was a different color. Now it's a nice minty green. Ohhh, look at the framed picture. That's ME, as a new little baby!

Here is a close-up of my kickin' new lamp and adorable window shade!

Here's a view of my Big Girl Bed. I am loving it so much. Next to it are some handy-dandy shelves to store things. The walls are the only thing that need tweaking. There are still some blank spots to be filled. Oh Mommy, maybe hang some poster-sized photos of me on the walls?

This is a closer view of the little cable for hanging my artwork.

One last wall to show. My newly-green name's above the closet.

And you gotta check THESE out! These are just the most gorgeous closet knobs ever!

Back from my trip!

I'm back! I'm back! I'm back! I had a wonderfully awesome weekend visiting Nana, Pappaw, and Grandma.

I also got to see my cousin Lacey. Not only did we play lots, but we also celebrated her 4th birthday!! Her actual b-day is TODAY.

Happy Birthday, Lacey!

Coming up, a short vacation

This weekend, I am going to stay with my Nana and Pappaw. I can't wait! While I'm gone, my Mommy & Daddy are going to work on the 'transformation' of my bedroom. Photos to be posted as things happen! Since I'll be on my trip, the work should go lots faster. :)

So . . . miss me. ;) I'm sure I'll have tons of fun!

"Birth" announcement

When I left for school this morning, I noticed that the chrysalis was looking kinda different! I wondered what had happened to it and what had squished it like that!

Then, I noticed something magnificent a few inches away!!

M & E turn 3!!!

Two of my very best buddies (M and E, below) celebrated their 3rd birthday this past weekend! A party was held in their honor. It was awesome!!

What did I do at the party? Hmm, as I recall:
I jumped offa platforms...

...to land in a giant tub of soft squooshy things!

I slid down slides.

I climbed rock walls.

I swung from ropes.

And as a finale, I ate birthday cake and ice cream!
Yep, I'd say it was definitely a very good day. :)

Hurry and come out!

Remember all those caterpillars that were on that plant? Well, one by one they grew bigger and then finally crawled off the plant. I sure miss them! But whaddaya gonna do? It's nature.

At first I thought they left because they had taken offense at my calling them "worms". But my mommy told me about the whole natural process of things. Apparently, the caterpillars grow up and then hide somewhere to form a "chrysalis". It might be hanging in a hard-to-reach place, or it could even be buried! Needless to say, we did not see any of them.

UNTIL. . .Sunday!! We saw one chrysalis hanging below a window at the back of the house (photo above)! Based on what mommy told me, a butterfly should be forming and growing inside there! Hopefully we'll see evidence of this. But I'm not holdin' my breath. I'm told that the butterfly formation part can take weeks. And then when he does come out, he'll probably be sneaky about it so we don't see him! If we see anything though, I'll be sure to post about it. :)

Apparently mommies & daddies need toys too

A few months ago, M & D took a break (a tiny break) from buying me toys. They went out and bought a toy for themselves. Eh, it's not as cool as my stuff. It is extremely large, colors are b-o-r-i-n-g, it has no lights, and it doesn't make fun sounds (like animal noises). So I should have NO interest in it, right?

(hee) In maintaining my goal of keeping the parental ones on their toes:

And the Oscar goes to . . .

Here I am last night at bedtime. I was acting. Acting like I was soooo tired.

Note from Mommy: Tired? Yeah. Right.

More on the cat (-erpillars)

After close observation of the caterpillar family, methinks they do that cocoon thang elsewhere (not on this plant!). I guess I can't blame them for hiding at that phase. Because I am VERY interested in this whole thing and could possibly disrupt the natural process...

Remember my last post about how SLOW the caterpillars moved?? Today, things seemed to have changed. The Big Boy of the group (see below) was booking it off the plant! He was movin' like nobody's business!! I was much impressed. We do not know where he went (off the pot), but imagine he is somewhere being all cocoon-like. He was very, very cool.

REAL butterflies to come!

** Attention **

At my house, we are officially on Cocoon Watch. And then soon after, we'll be on Butterfly Watch (yippee!). A plant on the back patio currently has TONS of caterpillars on it!! A bunch. Possibly around 20 caterpillars. So....we will be checking on things often to see what's progressing!

And we'll be taking photos if there's anything interesting to see!!

So far, my mommy has snapped the pics below. This was not hard, as 'pillars move soooooo s-l-o-w. They're sure not gonna run away from the camera! ;)

Fab weekend

I had a fabulous weekend! Nana & Pappaw came to town. WOO-HOOO!! We did a ton of fun things, including a trip to the local kids' museum. It had lots of fun things to tinker with! And as a bonus, you learn about stuff too.

Here I am learning about. . .black & white spinning things. :)

In this pic, Nana and I are looking at little chickies (REAL ones) in the "Farm-to-Market" section of the museum.

I am pretend-shopping here. I pretend-bought a whole basket of pretend-strawberries. And although tempting, I did not do any pretend-shoplifting! ;)

Overall, we had a ton o' fun visiting and playing. I love when N&P come to visit!

And of course, I got to spend lots of quality time with my buddy Jordy too. I have never met a doggie with so much love to give!!

A room with no butterflies is no room of mine!

You may have noticed that my chosen comforter has no butterflies. Sure, it has little dragonflies, bees, flamingos, and frogs. Three outta four of those things have wings (yay). But where are the butterflies??

As luck would have it, Mommy & Daddy found a solution. So I will be spared of nightmares about a butterfly-less world!

These guys are hanging in one corner of my room from the ceiling. They are WAAAAYYYY COOOOLLLL!!! I tell ya, Pottery Barn Kids just rocks!

Room redo, part 2

Remember the photo of the comforter in the first posting about my new room? The one that my mommy ordered? Well, it arrived a few days ago. And let me tell you, photos from a catalog can be VERY deceiving! The pretty butterflies were stitched onto the comforter, but looked all ragged-y and worn! And strings were sticking out all over the place. I just wanna know: what type of truck ran over my comforter?? Or was it a TANK? The thing just looked 100 years old and beat up! (And not in a cool & antique-looking kinda way.) Ok. Enough venting...

Mommy got me another soon after sending the 'damaged' one back to the landfill or whatever. ;) I like the new one lots! First, it's got many different colors. It also contains prints of: dragonflies, frogs, bees, and flamingos. Here, you can see how I'm checking it out. I officially APPROVE!

Also, I have some new shelves and baskets for storage. The pic below shows the initial arrangement of things. It needs some tweaking, but it's a start. :)

I also got a toy box! Mommy tried to make it sound all "exciting" that I got a toy box. But I KNOW that this box is just a plan for her to have a quicker way to clean up by tossing stuff in there! Kinda selfish, don't ya think? Yeah right, Mommy, it's all for me. Yeah. ;)

But anyway, you will notice 4 poodles in the picture above. One of these things is not like the other.... Which one??

Stay tuned for new room changes! I have created a punch list for Mommy & Daddy. Completion date is still TBD at this point.

First things first: Just pick a paint color already!! I've said that pink is FINE!!

Help me!

Poor pup. Sometimes, Lexi loves Pepper a little TOO much! ;-)

Happy 4th of July to all

I had a pretty good 4th-of-July, although I'm not so sure what it's all about! (And therefore refused to wear either of the red/white/blue outfits from Nana. I apparently do not feel that those colors are feminine enough for me...) ;)

Anyway, I enjoyed the day overall. As a bonus, I got to spend all day with Mommy & Daddy since they were both off work for this holiday. It was cool. However, I didn't get much 'outdoors' fun since it was on/off rain all day long. :(

Here's a sad me at the window, looking out at the rainyness.

Lucky for us, there was a break in the rain around lunchtime. Daddy put some stuff on the grill for lunch. Not the wildest & craziest of cook-outs, but it was fun. Mommy also made these very cool 'firecracker' cupcakes! No, they're not real firecrackers (it's licorice on top).

There was lots of licorice left over. What on Earth should we do with it? Any ideas, Daddy?

July 1st, actually

I should have posted several days ago, but I did not! I have been a busy little bee this holiday weekend. To start, I got a haircut on Saturday. I have so much fun doing this! I sit in a big chair that's shaped like a car. And then the hair-cutting lady turns on The Wiggles video for me to watch in the screen. It's fun and before I know it, I am looking bee-YOO-tiful!

Right after my haircut, we went to a cool BBQ place for lunch. We met up with my very best twin friends (and their parents). Photo of us down below. It's not the best photo, but was the only one that my mommy could get. The three of us were running in all different directions most of the time (hee). Speaking of my twin friends, they are having their 3rd b-day party in a couple of weeks. It's at a very fun place - I can't wait!!
